About Moreno Occhiolini

Moreno Occhiolini, Founder and Managing Director, was the Chief Operating Officer of Rocco Forte Hotels where he was one of the founding members of the core management team, until March 2009. Moreno joined Rocco Forte in 1997 from Forte plc when Rocco Forte’s new hotel group only owned the Balmoral in Edinburgh and was negotiating potential acquisitions in Europe and Russia (the Astoria, St Petersburg, the Savoy Hotel, Florence). Moreno’s role at Rocco Forte Hotels comprised three key aspects: development and growth of the owned-, leased-, managed- hotel portfolio, and the management of the operations and technical services.

Development Responsibilities Highlights

• Oversaw the refurbishment of the Hotel de Russie in Rome which opened on 15 April 2000 and became market leader in June 2001.
• Oversaw the refurbishment of the Hotel Savoy in Florence. The hotel opened on 1st May 2000 and became market leader in September 2001.
• Identified and negotiated the hotel projects in Frankfurt, Berlin and Munich, all on a sophisticated lease basis, taking into account the relative weakness of emotional support animal the German economy. He was responsible for the entire phase of construction as the leaseholder until the hotels were handed over to the operating team.
• Negotiated and finalised the terms of the hotel in Prague, due to open later this year.
• Significant and exceptional project in Sicily where as President and Managing Director, negotiated and purchased 250 hectares of land. Negotiated a substantial grant from the Central Government. Negotiated and obtained important financing from a major bank. Until March 2009 he was also responsbile for central and local Government contracts.
• Involved in negotiations for management contracts of future hotels being constructed in Marrakesh and Abu Dhabi.

Prior to that, he worked for NUR of Germany in Spain and Greece, with Westin Hotels snd Resorts as V.P. Europe and Managing Director of Germany flagship Vierjahreszeiten in Hamburg.

About Elena Bruno

From the opening in 1994 until 1998, Elena Bruno was Director of Sales and Marketing of the Hotel Eden in Rome, which was the city’s most profitable and renowned property during the 1990s.

Elena joined Rocco Forte Hotels in 1999 to oversee the launch of the Italian properties: the Hotel de Russie (Rome) and the Hotel Savoy (Florence). Besides heading the Sales and Marketing team, Elena was also in charge of the central reservation and Revenue Management team. One year after both hotels opened (2000), they became the best performers in their respective cities, with Elena leading the promotional and organizational aspects.

In 2003, she was appointed Area Director of Sales and Marketing for Rocco Forte, which made her responsible for Le Richmond (Geneva), the Château de Bagnol (Lyon), in addition to the Italian hotels for which she was already responsible.

In 2005, Elena was appointed General Manager of the Hotel de Russie in Rome, and in her three years in the position achieved the highest financial results and return-on-investment in the hotel’s history.

About Corinne Bornefeld

Corinne Bornefeld joined Rocco Forte Hotels in 1999 from Forte Village, to set up the financial and administrative operations of the cluster of Italian hotels and corporate entities (Hotel de Russie and Hotel Savoy, and, later, also one in Sicily). She assisted in the takeover of the Hotel Amigo in Brussels, the Le Richemond in Geneva and is worked on their openings in Prague. She has oversight responsibilities of the finance teams in Germany (Frankfurt, Munich and Berlin) and continues to look after Geneva.

Corinne led the installation of the IT systems both for front of house operations and back of house administration (Navision) in all the properties as well as in The Head Office. The IT platform also delivers the reporting requirements for head office and the group overall.

Prior to Rocco Forte Hotels, (from 1994) Corinne was financial controller at the Eden Hotel in Rome responsiblle for the accounts department at the Palazzo della Fonte as well as the management of the accounting team. In 1997/98 Corinne was financial controller of Forte Village where she led the installation of a structured IT network with Fibre optics.

Moreno Occhiolini

Fino a marzo 2009 Chief Operating Officer della Rocco Forte Collection dove è stato uno dei fondatori appartenendo fin dall’inizio, come Consigliere di amministrazione, ai più stretti collaboratori di Sir Rocco Forte.

Già conosciuto per aver gestito nella Forte Plc come Vice Presidente il Gallia di Milano, l’Eden di Roma, il Palazzo della Fonte di Fiuggi e l’Hotel de Bergues di Ginevra, nella nuova realtà a partire dal 1998 si è inizialmente occupato della ristrutturazione dell’ Hotel de Russie a Roma e dell’Hotel Savoy a Firenze e del loro quasi simultaneo lancio sul mercato nazionale ed internazionale.

Le sue responsabilità sono suddivise in tre attività principali

• Nello sviluppo ha identificato progetti a Francoforte, Villa Kennedy, a Berlino, Hotel de Rome, a Monaco di Baviera l’Hotel Charles, negoziato il contratto d’affitto con l’investitore e supervisionato tutte le attività per conto della compagnia.
• A Praga con l’Hotel Augustine negoziato il contratto di gestione e supervisionato tutte le attività.
• In Sicilia dopo aver acquistato 250 ettari di terreno da 82 proprietari ha negoziato ed ottenuto un contributo a fondo perduto pari a € 44ml.
• Negoziato ed ottenuto il Finanziamento del progetto da parte di una delle più grandi banche europee, gestito e supervisionato tutti i processi autorizzativi e di costruzione di 45 buche ed un Resort forse unico in Europa con 200 camere.
• Nella gestione è stato Amministratore Delegato delle 13 società operative del gruppo acquisendo una notevole esperienza ed internazionalità in Inghilterra, Russia, Belgio, Svizzera, Cipro, Repubblica Ceca, Germania ed Italia.
• Èstato anche responsabile dei servizi tecnici della compagnia . Con base a Londra ha guidato la supervisione tecnica di tutte le costruzioni e ristrutturazioni

Elena Bruno

Fin dall’apertura nel 1994 Elena è stata il Direttore Vendite e Marketing dell’Hotel Eden a Roma posizionandolo come indiscusso nr 1 sul mercato romano. Prima aveva raggiunto lo stesso obbiettivo con il Palazzo della Fonte di Fiuggi.

Meno di un anno dopo tutti e due gli alberghi sono nr 1 in Yield nelle rispettive città.

Nel 2003 diventa Direttore di area aggiungendo l’Hotel Le Richmond di Ginevra e il Chateau De Bagnol vicino a Lione alle sue responsabilità commerciali. Anche in questo ruolo mantiene la Responsabilità del controllo È anche del Servizio prenotazioni e Revenue Management centralizzato per gli alberghi di Roma e Firenze .

Nel 2005 viene promossa General Manager dell’ Hotel de Russie di Roma e mantenendo un indiscusso primo posto vince numerosi premi internazionali che riconoscono le sue capacità

Lascia l’albergo alla fine del 2008 dopo aver raggiunto una occupazione dell’86% ed un ARR di € 667.

Corinne Bornefeld

Corinne ha raggiunto la Rocco Forte Hotels nel 1999 dal Forte Village per organizzare e gestire dal punto di vista finanziario/amministrativo e di IT l’apertura dei due alberghi Italiani l’ Hotel de Russie a Roma e l’ Hotel Savoy a Firenze.

Ha fatto parte della task force che si è occupata dell’ Hotel Amigo a Bruxelles e dell’Hotel Le Richmond a Ginevra.

Ha inoltre impostato e supervisionato la contabilità e l’ IT negli alberghi tedeschi (Francoforte , Berlino e Monaco ) fino all’arrivo dei rispettivi Controllers ed anche dopo ha continuato in una funzione di supporto.

Ha inoltre guidato il team che ha installato un nuovo sistema di contabilità centralizzata in tutti gli alberghi della compagnia cosi come all’Head Office a Londra.

Con l’avvio delle attività in Sicilia nel 2004 è diventata Financial Director Italy occupandosi di tutte quelle aree di sua competenza.

Prima del Forte Village dove è stata Financial Controller negli anni 1998 e 1999, ha avuto la stessa responsabilità all’Hotel Eden di Roma dal 1995 al 1998.

Corinne ha lasciato la Rocco Forte Collection a fine giugno 2009.

Moreno Occhiolini

Moreno Occhiolini, Gründer und Besitzer der Magellan Gesellschaft,  war der Geschäftsführer und einer der Gründungsmitglieder von Rocco Forte Hotels bis März 2009. Im Jahre 1997 ist Moreno von Forte PLC zur neuen Rocco Forte Gruppe gewechselt. Zu dieser Zeit gehörte nur das Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh zur Gesellschaft und Verhandlungen für potenzielle Projekte in Europa und Russland (das Astoria, St Petersburg, das Savoy in Florence). Die Rollen Moreno’s in der Rocco Forte Gruppe  waren wie folgt: Entwicklung und Wachstum von Hotels im Besitz,  gepachtete und gemanagte  Projekte, sowie die operative Führung und die Technischen Dienstleistungen (Erneuerungen und Weiterentwicklungen) der Hotels.

Höhepunkte der Entwicklungsverantwortung:

• Beaufsichtigung der Renovierung des Hotels de Russie in Rom, welches am 15 April 2000 seine Türen öffnete und im Juni 2001 Marktführer wurde.
• Beaufsichtigung der Renovierung des Hotel Savoy in Florence, welches am 1 May 2000 die Türen öffnete und im September 2000 Marktführer wurde.
• Identifizierung und Verhandlung der Hotelprojekte in Frankfurt, Berlin und München, alles Projekte basiert auf eines maßgeschneiderten Pachtvertrags, die die Schwäche der deutschen Wirtschaft zu dieser Zeit ausnützte. Er war verantwortlich für die gesamte Fase des Baus des Hotels, als Mieter verantwortlich bis zur Übergabe an das operative Team.
• Verhandlung der Details für das Hotel in Prag, welches 2 Jahre später eröffnet wurde.
• Bedeutendes und außergewöhnliches Projekt in Sizilien wo er als Präsident und Direktor 250 Hektare Land verhandelte und kaufte. Verhandlung einer substanziellen Subvention der Europäischen Gemeinschaft sowie der Finanzierung des Projekts. Bis März 2009 war er verantwortlich für die Verträge und Bürokratien der Zentralen und Kommunalverwaltung.
• Er hat an Verhandlungen für Managementverträge von den zukünftigen Hotel in Marrakesch und Abu Dhabi teilgenommen.

Davor arbeitete er für NUR Deutschlands in Spanien und Griechenland, mit Westin Hotels und Resorts als V.P. Europa und Geschäftsführender Direktor des Flaggschiffs Deutschlands Vierjahreszeiten in Hamburg.

Elena Bruno

Von der Eröffnung in 1994 bis 1998 war Elena Bruno Direktorin für Sales & Marketing des Hotel Edens, das bekannteste und profitabelste Hotel in Rom in der Neunziger Jahren.

Elena schloss sich der Rocco Forte Gruppe 1999 an, um den Anfang der Italienischen Hotels zu übersehen: das Hotel de Russie in Rom und das Hotel Savoy in Florence. Außer für das Sales & Marketing Team, war Elena auch für das Reservierung  und Revenue Management Team verantwortlich.  Ein Jahr nach Ihrer Eröffnung (Mai 2000) wurden beide Hotels Marktführer in der Ihrer Stadt unter der Verkauf und Marketing Aufsicht  von Elena.

In 2003 wurde Elena zum Regional Direktor für Sales & Marketing ernannt. Sie übernahm neben Ihren Italienischen Hotels die Verantwortung für das Hotel Richemond in Genf und das Hotel Chateau de Bagnol (Lyon).

2005 wurde Elena zum General Direktor des Hotel de Russie ernannt,  und in ihren drei Jahren in der Position erreichte sie die höchsten Finanzergebnisse und Return on Investment  in der Geschichte des Hotels.

Corinne Bornefeld

Corinne schloss sich der Rocco Forte Gruppe in 1999 an nach einem Jahr in Forte Village um den Italienischen Regionalbereich für Buchhaltung und Administration zu organisieren (Hotel de Russie – Rom, Hotel Savoy – Florence, und später auch das Sizilianische  Projekt. Sie unterstuetzte die Übernahme des Hotel Amigos in Brüssel  und dem Hotel Richemond in Genf und bei der Eröffnung in Prag. Sie hatte die Verantwortung für die Organisation des Administrativen Bereiches bei den Eröffnungen  in Deutschland (Frankfurt, Berlin und München), sowie die des Hotel Richemond nach dem Umbau.

Corinne führte die IT Installationen sowohl im Hotel wie im Buchhaltungsbereich (Navision )in allen Hotels der Rocco Forte, sowie auch im Hauptsitz der Gesellschaft in London. Das IT Program liefert die Berichterstattung sowohl für die Hotels wie auch für die Zentrale.

Vorher (von 1994 an) war Corinne Finanz Chef im Eden Hotel in Rom, verantwortlich auch für das Buchhaltungsteam im Palazzo della Fonte in Fiuggi. In 1997/98 war Corinne Finanzchef des Forte Village Resorts, wo sie die Leitung für die Installation eines strukturierten Netzwerks übernahm.
